Loretto, July 27: The feast of St. Anna and St. Joachim, affectionately celebrated as "Malagadyanso Dees", was marked with reverence and joy at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Loretto. The event was specially organized to honor the elderly parishioners by the SVP Society, Commission for Social Welfare, and Commission for Family Life.
The day began with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 11:00 AM, dedicated to the senior citizens of the parish. Rev. Fr. Francis Crasta was the main celebrant, invoking God’s blessings on the elderly.
The post-Mass program in the church hall was a beautiful blend of celebration and community bonding. A warm welcome drink was served to all attendees. The gathering included several distinguished guests, Rev. Fr. A spiritual ambiance was created as the parish choir, along with Fr. Francis, sang the hymn in honor of St. Anna and St. Joachim.The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing enlightenment and grace. Dignitaries and commission representatives lit the lamp, marking the formal beginning of the stage program.
The formal program began with a welcome speech by Mr. Felix Dsouza. Ms. Victoria Dsouza anchored the entire event gracefully, ensuring the program moved smoothly.
The gathering was also addressed by Mr. Joe Coelho and Rev. Fr. Francis Crasta, who spoke meaningfully about the importance of the elderly in families and society.The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Praveen Pinto, appreciating all those who made the celebration a grand success. A delicious lunch, lovingly prepared and served by church volunteers, was shared in fellowship. The entire event was beautifully captured by Mr. Alwyn Pinto, preserving memories of joy, respect, and togetherness.

As a gesture of love and appreciation, a Token of Love — a small gift — was presented to every elderly guest, bringing smiles and heartfelt gratitude.
