15 September 2024, Loretto: The St. Francis Xavier Ward came together to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary and commemorate Noven Jevan on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the residence of Mrs. Lilly Lobo. The event began at 12:00 p.m., with Sister Idoline as the special guest.
The celebration was compered by the ward Gurkar, Mr. Stany Lobo, and started with a prayer led by Lavina Crasta, who also extended a warm welcome to all attendees. In honor of the feast, flowers were offered to Infant Mary, symbolizing devotion and reverence.
Following the floral tribute, participants enjoyed the traditional Noven Jevan, a symbolic consumption of new grain to mark the blessings of the harvest. Adding an interactive element to the celebration, Ms. Roshal Menezes conducted a quiz focusing on the life and significance of Mary.
Sister Idoline distributed prizes to the winners of the quiz and shared a meaningful message on the occasion, reflecting on the importance of Mother Mary in Christian life. The meal, prepared by the ward members, was blessed by Sister Idoline before being shared and enjoyed by all attendees.
