April 13, Loretto: The faithful of Loretto Parish gathered in devotion and reverence to commemorate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. The celebration began with the blessing of palms at the school grounds by Rev. Fr. John Pereira, Pallottine, Rector of the Minor Seminary. This was followed by a solemn procession to the church, symbolizing Christ’s journey and setting a tone of spiritual reflection.
Fr. Jason Monis, Principal Fr. Francis Crasta, and Fr. John Pereira joined the parishioners in prayer and worship. In his homily, Fr. John Pereira emphasized the virtue of humility, urging the faithful “not to be proud like a horse but to be humble like a donkey,” noting that Jesus favored the humble in spirit.
The atmosphere was deeply spiritual, further enriched by a moving presentation that beautifully captured the essence of Holy Week.
This sacred observance marked the beginning of the journey toward Easter, drawing the faithful closer to the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ.
