June 1, Loretto: The Catechism year at Our Lady of Loretto Church was solemnly inaugurated with a Holy Eucharistic Celebration on Sunday, 1st June 2025. The celebration commenced with a graceful entrance procession, which included student representatives, a parent representative, catechism teachers, PPC Vice President Mr. Cyprian D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Shaila Barboza, Catechism Coordinator Mr. Prakash Vas, Superior Sr. Idoline Rodrigues, Principal of Loretto Central School Fr. Jason Monis and Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Francis Crasta.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Francis Crasta, who also led the special ceremonial distribution of the Holy Bible to the teachers and catechism books to the students. This symbolic gesture highlighted the teachers’ role in imparting the values and goodness found in the Holy Bible, while encouraging students to grow stronger in their faith.
The liturgy was beautifully conducted by the students, reflecting their enthusiasm and active participation in the spiritual life of the parish.
A significant moment of joy during the celebration was the honouring of newly professed nun, Sr. Geswin Pinto, from the Sisters of the Rosary congregation. She was felicitated by the parish priest and presented with a floral bouquet, recognizing her dedication and commitment to religious life.
Following the Mass, refreshments were graciously served by the family of Sr. Geswin Pinto, bringing the parish community together in fellowship and celebration.
The Catechism Year Inauguration was a spiritually enriching experience that brought together students, parents, teachers, clergy, and religious, marking the beginning of another fruitful year of faith formation.
